BIOGRAPHY

Audrey Elk was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She graduated with her BFA in 2022 at Ringling College of Art & Design. Her main interests in life are being outdoors and reading philosophy. These two fundamental interests influence the art. She is a multimedia artist who writes and illustrates stories, paints with oils and watercolors, block prints, makes sculptures, and uses 2D animation. The work is motivated by human response to the mysteries of nature/the divine. The contrast between ephemerality of the body and psychic eternity interests her. Elk is also interested in exploring the link between  dream reality and waking reality. This explains her use of ambiguous forms in liminal landscapes. Lastly, the work looks at the body and its relationship to nature and the divine
